Then you have to make sure you maintain the regular schedule of payments. You do not want to fall behind again, or even fall behind in the first place. Next thing is you want to carefully go over your credit report. Look for the errors, and make sure they are legit. Sometimes mistakes will happen and you want to make sure that is not the case. Also, make sure the bad marks are current. If you can get some taken off your score then do that as soon as possible. Do not let old marks affect you. So as you can see, these are things you can do. They just take a bit of effort and time. But you will save a great deal of money.
What About a Company?
If you do not have the time to repair your credit yourself then you can opt for a company to help you. This also would work in a situation where your credit is completely messed up, and over your head. Companies are not a bad option by any means. They can really help you out. You just need to inform them of the situation, and they will help you get your credit back to a respectable rating. The benefits are: someone is helping you so you know it will be done right, and you do not have to spend your precious time working on your score. The only drawback comes when you have to pay the company to do this. Yes, it will cost money. You have to question whether it is worth it to have someone do something you can do yourself. Plus, you also have to make sure it is something you can afford to do. Your credit is not in good shape because you probably have not controlled your finances. So is it right to throw money at someone again?

It is probably best to fix your score by yourself. You save money and you can learn more about the credit game. Plus you will become more aware of what you did not do correctly, and how you can start to catch errors before they happen again. It is a good learning experience.
