There are five factors that will determine your credit score (followed by the percent that it dictates). Your credit score will consist of your previous account history (35%), amounts owed by debts and loans (30%), length of your credit history (15%), type of credit you have in use (10%), and any new credit (10%). All these are important factors because they will show people how you have used accounts you have had in the past, as well as how often you need new accounts. It is truly a process that is determined by the past, present, and future outlook.
Consult Your Score Earlier and Often
Before you go through with any loan or borrow any money you need to check on your credit score. You need to make sure that it is high enough for you to qualify for a great interest rate on a loan. Say you are looking to borrow some money in June. When should look at your credit score? Early June? Late May? No, you need to look at your credit score as soon as you realize you want to borrow money in the future. The sooner you look the earlier you will be able to try and improve your score. Make sure you continue to go back to it periodically as well.
Be Patient
Credit scores will improve if you take your time and do what is asked of you. This will be a gradual improvement so make sure that you are being patient and not trying to rush anything. We know you can get anxious and try to force things through, but that could just end up making things worse for you. You have done your part by knowing what your score is, and by making the proper changes in your life. Now make sure that your credit score can do the rest. If you are patient during this process then good things will happen to you.
