Next thing you want to do is cancel your account. Get a new account with that company and have all your information transferred to that new account. Your old account number has obviously been compromised. You need this new account, because you need to continue on with your financial life, and no one unauthorized will have this number now.
If your credit history has been stolen, as well as your credit card account number, then that can be bad as well. Your credit history is very important as well, and can used to further a loan or credit that someone may take out with your stolen card. So you want to alert the proper creditors, and bureaus. That why they know what to watch out for, and make sure nothing inappropriate shows up on your credit score. Because, as we know, your credit score is very important and anything bad on there can be very damaging. So take the initiative on that to make sure nothing bad happens.
Don’t Panic, and Act Fast
Those are the two main keys when getting your credit information stolen. You do not want to panic and make bad moves, but you need to act fast to make sure the troubles are limited. Just alert the right people about the situation. That is the main thing you need to do. Once that is done, then you can work on restoring what may have been lost. This is a major concern, but you can get through it easily and successfully if you go about it correctly.
