Here’s the thing. We spend on money on things each day, and we are not even aware that we are doing it. There are little things we do that really add up. If we were too only stop for a second and take a step back, then we would realize what is going on. Here are some of the top things that are sucking the money right out of the pocket of hard working Americans.
Step Back an Assess the Situation
So now days the average meal costs about $9 when you eat out. That can really begin to add up. If you were to eat out every day at work you would be spending $45 weekly. That amounts to $2,300 over the course of an entire year. Now we know that is the extreme side of things, but this just gives you an idea of much you may be spending. Think about what you could do with the extra money if you brought your lunch in half of the time!
Now, believe me, a gym membership is great. Everyone should work out, and be healthy. But if you have a gym membership then you got to make sure that you use it, otherwise it is a waste. At least $30 a month is going away to that membership, but you are not using it. Do you have any other unused memberships you are just hanging onto? Because you should really cut those out of your budget for the time being until you are ready to use them again.
Now, everyone likes to relax after a hard day/week of work. But alcohol is getting expensive! Say you go out on the weekend and average 6-8 beers for the weekend, that can be upwards of $48 a weekend up spend on alcohol. That is another $2,300 a year you spend. See how this is all starting to add up? These are little things, which you need to watch out for. It may seem like you have to have less fun, but not true. All you need to do is cut back and everything will be ok.
Be Aware of What You Are Spending
The goal is to get you more in tune with your wallet. If it fun to spend, but careless spending can really put you in some deep holes. So if you cut down a bit on things that are not really needed, then you will find yourself in a lot better financial shape. Then you can have more money for vacations, or things with your family. So just become aware of how you manage your money, and look for ways to start savings. You will start to see the difference almost immediately.
