Running Low on Money, So Who Gets Paid First?

So at the end of the month you may still have some bills that need to be paid off. But unfortunately you may not have the amount of money needed. Who should you pay first? Here is a tip for you to think about when it is time to pay the bills.

This is not a fun situation to find yourself in. The end of the month is approaching and you do not have funds to cover all that you needed and planned on doing. So who is the most important in that line? Well here are some things you can pay attention to while making out that list. The key is to maximize your money wisely, so hopefully these tips will help with all that.

Does Money Buy Happiness?

Here is a question. If money is slow, and not everyone can get paid right away, what do you want to lose first? Your house or your credit card? That question might put everything into perspective for you. Most of you would probably say that you would rather lose your credit card then lose your house.

It is generally smarter to pay off small debts first, and then work on larger ones. But if you can avoid debts you should (of course). But if debts get too large, then the item that is in debt may be taken away from you. So without a doubt you need to protect that house at all cost, because it is a very valuable asset. If times get tough then you can sell your house. You can’t sell your credit card.

How Long is This Problem?

Notice whether your problem is short term or long term. Budgeting really helps this case. Make a list of all the expenses you are about to incur. Then write down how much money you will be making during that time period. That will give you a clearer picture of where the money needs to be stretched. Hopefully you can find out that this is actually a short term problem that will be solved next pay period.

If the problem is long term, then you can brace yourself by getting in touch with a debt advice professional. These people will help you notice what money you have and how you can work around these problems. They are also good at helping you create a great budget, which can still account for expenses on items you need to live (such as food, clothes, etc).

The best part about all of this is that there are ways for you to get out of this hole. It may take a little bit, but it will not be something that is permanent. It might be good for you to start a budget right now, if you do not have one. Even if you find that you are not in trouble or will not be in trouble in the near future this may still be good. This is just a really good way to manage your money. Then you need to make a fall back list of items to pay for in order of importance. In case of an emergency then you will have this list to fall back on. It may really help you one day. But let’s hope that it does not come down to that.
